Decaffeinated Black Teas

The chemical free process uses naturally occurring CO2, high pressure and temperature to extract the caffeine; no chemical solvents are used. Please choose from the following teas:

DECAFFEINATED ASSAM – Decaffeinated Assam black tea with traditional malty flavours. Decaffeinated using the CO2 method by Harney & Sons. Medium strength.

DECAFFEINATED EARL GREY – This decaffeinated black tea (flowery pekoe grade) is full flavoured with excellent Earl Grey notes from natural oil of bergamot. Also contains cornflower petals. The infusion is bright with coppery highlights. Medium strength.

DECAFFEINATED ENGLISH BREAKFAST – This is a wonderful decaffeinated black tea (flowery pekoe grade). The blend is based on flowery pekoe leaf from Sri Lanka’s Dimbula region, harvested high up in the mountains above Colombo. The supplier is one of the country’s premium growers and has been supplying the Metropolitan Tea Company with tea for decades. For a decaf, the cup is decidedly self-assured with lovely floral notes, medium body, balanced astringency and long finish. A wonderful all-day breakfast tea. The infusion is bright with coppery highlights. Medium strength.

DECAFFEINATED IRISH BREAKFAST – One of the finest teas we’ve found in Nandi (Kenya). This decaffeinated black tea (pekoe fanning grade – small pieces of tea) brews up the sort of thick, full-bodied cuppa preferred by the tea lovers of Ireland with delicious malty notes reminiscent of caramel. Excellent depth and a lovely rosy cup. If you’re sensitive to caffeine, or looking for something that tastes great and won’t keep you awake, this one is tough to beat.The infusion is bright with coppery highlights. Strong.

DECAFFEINATED PARIS – Flavoured black tea. Decaffeinated version of one of Harney’s most popular teas and natural flavour. Decaffeinated using the CO2 method by Harney & Sons. Medium strength.

DECAFFEINATED PEACH APRICOT – This decaffeinated black tea (flowery pekoe grade) is sweet but also astringent with a smooth peach apricot flavour. The infusion is bright with coppery highlights. Medium strength.

DECAFFEINATED VANILLA COMORO – Flavoured black tea. Decaffeinated black tea and natural flavour. Decaffeinated using the CO2 method by Harney & Sons. Medium strength.

Brewing suggestion: One level or heaped teaspoon per cup (depending on desired strength and whether milk is added). Infuse for 3-7 minutes (according to taste) with freshly boiled water. Compatible with milk.
